U.S. replaces top general in Afghanistan as war worsens
The Pentagon is replacing its top general in Afghanistan. Defense Secretary Robert Gates said Monday that he asked for the resignation of Gen. David McKiernan. He said a fresh approach was in the United States’ best interest.
